Pawsome is sleeping outside snuggled in a (MINI outdoor) cover as I take the bus to work from tomorrow.
Summer's here (or not), parking$ + gas$ + exercise need = say hello to Metro! (Plus work gives me a free bus pass). I took the bus for over 4 years before I started driving but it feels so hard to get back to the bus routine |

I did it for more than 20 years and would happily join you, but last time I checked it took 3 bus rides and 2 hours to get to Bellevue from here. When Metro wakes up I'll grab the back corner seat again and go to sleep. MINI would understand.

I'd love to take the bus but the last time I checked it would involve me driving 10 minutes to the transit station, a forty minute bus ride, and a five minute walk. I can drive door to door in 20 minutes. I'm with Cosmic, if it were convenient I'd be all over it. |

This is one good reason I love living in a small town.I live about 5 blocks away from my work.If its sunny I ride my bike "pedal" myself to work.

I wish I could take the bus/Metro to work too...
Good for you for using public transport! (I am so thankful my work pays for my gas!!!) |

wow! that's quite a deal... I get an almost free bus pass so that's what I use. Not so much because of the gas, but $20 a day or $250 a month to park downtown is more than I am willing to spend (by about $250).

For me 1/2 mile walk and the bus drops me off and picks me up almost right in front of my office building downtown. About an hour door to door. I drive in about 45 minutes so the bus works for me! Saves me about $5k a year in gas and parking, probably more now that gas has gone up since I last calculated it.

It's a short commute (15-20mins) for me and I get cheaper parking (100$ a month) but I am still looking at 1700-1800$ a year . Bus for me till it gets colder in Oct - Nov.

Commute-wise, I'm lucky to work from home, but still have to spend on gas to run lots of business errands - unfortunately not the kind of errands the bus would work out for. But the sad part is, the way the gas prices are skyrocketing, I'm envisioning one of these days having to take out a loan to buy gas for a MINI road trip! It's scary!

I found an article yesterday which stated that Europeans are annoyed with the rising gas prices. I so would trade Pawsome in for one of these. God forbid that the US see those Ds though :(

When I worked in the company office, I would have a minimum 1.5 hr bus ride to get in, with one transfer. Shift would start at 7:00 am, so I would have to catch the first bus heading out of Maple Valley at 5:50 so I could get into the office and at my seat at 7:30. If I missed the bus that came by the office at 4:00 pm, I would not be able to get home at all.
