A Day at the Wheel Shop.......

Went out to visit the folks at Panther this week. Here's what they did with my factory wheels:

This is their "black chrome" treatment. I think they have a winner with this finish on this wheel.

Just when I convinced myself not to get new wheels on my mini I see yours.

Contact Panther at:

Ask for Keith or Paul and mention the black chrome effect done on Jacob's MINI.

That is a sweet look for darker colors! I've never seen anything like that. How do they do it? How much does it cost?

Jacob ~

Wow!!  Your wheels look awesome!  I've been looking at getting some chrome wheels for my MINI.  I was thinking 5 or 6 spoke, but maybe I'd considered getting mine done like yours.  Was it expensive?  How long did you have to wait to get them chromed?  I've seen a business on Ebay located in California that chromes factory MINI wheels.

Brenda w/LUV2MTR plates- Aug '06 S, Hyper Blue, white top/sport stripes, chrome in/out, all pkgs, English leather, chrono pack, HK stereo, Jan tune, CAI, 15%, H&R coilovers, rear sway bar, control arm

These are not chrome plated, but a paint finish that looks like chrome.  Chrome plating of aluminum wheels is often not successfull in terms of durability.  Talk to Keith at Panther to get prices.

They really look nice.

Just for clarification, you say painted.  Are they painted or powdercoated?   I'm presuming that they're powdercoated for durability.  Right?

Ahhh.   I guess it would have to be paint to get the chrome finish.  Very nice.   I'm sure they'll wear at least as well as the painted stock rims.  I'd be very curious to get your feedback down the road about how they wear over the months.
