If your one who wants every ounce of HP than 17% and new belt(smaller). If you just want a noticable HP increase and you can use the stock belt than the 15%. :) |

This topic has been open for a while with people opting in and out.Can we start a list here that we can build on to make this party happen? Also do we have to wait for 5 cars? I would be willing to pay the extra $25 dollars if we didn't get a group discount on the pulleys. People needing help with other mods could attend too. It makes for a good day of socializing with other members and BSing about our Minis.
Put us down for an Alta 15% pulley and new belt Coll and Sheila 05 MCSC (EAR2EAR) |

I went with 17% - I was going to go 15% but figured what the heck and have not been sorry. The additional power is great.

looks like 5 people. Let me know what day this is going to
be. If I can make it I would possibly like to install a lightened
crank pulley during the session.

I'm coming from the East side of the mountains, so if we can make it on a weekend, that would be better for me. Also, I guess we nee some lead time to order the pulley. Any recommendations on which brand is best? Lance

For those doing the pulley you will also want to get new spark plugs Denso IK 22. OR NGK iridium BRK7EIX-11 are under 10.00 they are equal to the IK 22 I have a set that I can sell if you can not find them. I will also order the belts if I can get a good price they are about $10.00 |

Does a plug replacement, without pulley replacement, give any benefit?

I think the plugs are mainly to deal with the extra compression, but I could be wrong... I don't know how much they would help in a non-pulley'd car... of course they could help some, but it probably wouldn't be noticeable... |

Just to clarify. The IK 22 run about 12.00ea and the NGK about 7.00ea, and both usually have to be ordered. The belt from the local Napa store is closer to 22.00 Napa belt 25-060539 for 15 and 17%. |

Any suggestions on which stores to order the Spark plugs from? Have folks had better luck with NAPA vs. Schucks vs. Autozon vs. etc?
Also, is a new belt needed for a 15% pulley swap?

NAPA Seems to be a good place to look for the plugs, also the need for a new belt on the 15% install is up to you and depends on the number of miles you have.

I got my NGK's from Schucks. Had to order and they were in a day or so later. I got the last ones they had but that was a couple of months ago. Weren't the advertised $7.00 though. $11 is closer. The NAPA guy told me that they stock the NGK's but do not stock the Denso's any more because of reliability problems....

It looks like the dates available for the Garage are the 12th or 13th of Nov. since it looks like the Forks drive is leaning for the 19th. With Thanksgiving and Christmas coming up it limits the dates. |

Some of you might have looked for plugs already. we had the letters reversed for the NGKs Sorry, this is the correct number. You need to order this week from your local auto parts store so you have them for the 12th.

Dave:
Please email the directions to me at ldurbin@pfp.org. I'm not sure which of my email addresses I gave you when I registered, and I want to make sure I get the directions! Also, i tmay be a bit late to ask this question, but what does NW MINI think of pulley swaps? Are they "Mod-friendly"? |
