Motor-ers,
I just put down the latest issue of MC2 magazine and they recapped and drive/rally that I thought was fantastic! In St.Louis there was a doughnut run! A DOUGHNUT RUN!! They picked 6 local donut shops, and the challenge was to visit all 6 shops in the least amount of miles. Obviously there are more details than that, but I thought it sounded like a great idea. What do you all think?? I've never set up a run before, so is anyone down with helping me plan one? Let me hear your thoughts!

Can we start by getting suggestions for great Doughnut places? I only moved here 6months ago, so my knowledge of the area isn't the best.
Frost seems to be a favorite, along with Top Pot. What are some other temples of deep fried goodness that should be included??

If you can't find enough quality donut shops you can always throw in cupcakes and bagels...both popular spots too.

Mr. Gluten Free here will probably go along for the drive. Stacie and Elliott are donut eaters.

Frost, Mill Creek is going to be one of my top picks. Chuck's Donuts, Renton has I would be willing to say the best Maple Bars around. Krispy Kreme, Issaquah is alway a good stop.Lenendary Doughnuts in Lakeland Hills, Auburn is good to. Hope this is what you were looking for.  |

Here's a quick recap of the doughnut temples that have been suggested so far:
Top Pot, Seattle Frost Doughnuts, Mill Creek Chuck's Donuts, Renton Krispy Kreme, IssaquahLegendary Doughnuts, Auburn Spudnut, Richland Fritters & Jitters, Bothell Mighty-O Donuts, Seattle Western Co Doughnuts, multiple locations Family Donuts, Seattle The trick will be finding ones with enough parking to support the drive. I know Top Pot in Redmond has enough parking around the shop and Krispy Kreme would be fine. Not sure about some of the others. Can you guys tell me if some of these do or do not have parking available? Thanks! And keep your thoughts and suggestions coming! This is going to be fun & filling! |

Aside from Krispy Kreme in Issaquah, there will soon be a Top Pot and there is an independent donut shop in Gilman Village (the name escapes me).

I made the "sacrifice" this morning and went to check out Legendary Doughnuts on 6th in Tacoma....awesome doughnuts (munching on an Oprah right now....bacon maple bar) but zero parking. The Legendary at Lake Tapps has parking and some "fun" roads nearby. But the city Bonney Lake also has a motorcycle cop with a license plate frame that says "Nine you're fine....Ten you're Mine" and a picture of him in City Hall giving his grandmother a ticket.
