Leaping Lizards looks like that dog could fly. Must a been a bird dog. I guess to make a mini do that all you would need is a LSD 200 more HP and to run in reverse. :) That's cool Rob 130mph in under 10sec must be a rush.

Just got back from the Drags. SharkReef and myself were able to only get in 4 runs. Lot of cars. The 14 second Hummer (Supercharged) was there. The mods I have now are working sweet I WAS ABLE TO GET DOWN TO 15.104 AT 92.82. The power is smooth and strong. Minirox now has top speed and lowest ETA. SharkReef whooped me the last run. I had an advantage on the first 2 he had 100lbs of water and fish supplies in the boot. Thanks Eric for comming out. |

Thanks again Mike for meeting up today, it sure was fun. I don't have last years runs by me right now, but I know it was a 15.2?? and around 92 mph. But today was a diferent story. My new bests are 14.756 for 1/4 mile and 96.50 mph. Just over half of my runs were down in the 14's. Makes a diference once you figure out the best way to take off. Mike and I found that it's ALL about the first 60 (ft I think) to really get your time down. We need to do another group of MINI's out there some day. |

Paul Cooper from John Cooper Motorsports told me that I should be at 220 hp just with their manifold that they put on the MINI race cars for the John Cooper Challenge. Unfortunately they wouldn't sell me their supercharger too. After that I put in a DINAN Camshaft. If you read on Mini Madnes their cam says an additional 7-9 hp but they also say on their website that a throttle body gives you horsepower which I don't quite understand. A little quicker reaction yes, but no horsepower. So anyway, I figure it's prbably about 225 hp. If you go by the madness website maybe 229. I guess I should email DINAN and ask them. Or hook it up to a Dyno and get the results. But like Mike told me it all matters on the hook up and the tech doing it for a Dyno. Mike or anyone could do the same thing and actually Mike was just barely under my time. Still very impressive since he has spent much less than I have. If you want to get it up there quick and not as expensive then Mike's got it figured out. I think he has spent more in chrome than performance, and his car out performs most. I, on the other hand, am not a good mechanic nor did I want to work on my car myself. I wanted the power, security of the JCW brand, and themed my car around the JCW brand too. All in all, I love my car, it's my hobby (not fish), and it's been a lot of fun trying to get every ounce of power I could. The coolest thing about MINI's is there is no right or wrong way to do it. It's all about each individual and what they want to do with their car, and that's one of the coolest thing about MINI's. Edited by SharkReef - July/15/06 at 12:17pm |

That's cool!!! I did both ways mph and time, then averaged them. I took the weight specs off the MINI website and then just added my weight to it. If that was correct then mine would be 222.5 hp at the crank. I will say however that I sure liked seeing the 237 hp just based on the mph at the end of the 1/4 mile. Thanks for the fun site!!! Hopefully I will still see you on Saturday. For the moment I am still planning on going. |

Hey Mike how much did you say you thought my car would weigh??? It hought you said about 2900 lbs. If so, with my weight added my average HP between the 2 would be 239.5 at the crank. That's a fun number!!! |

Yea, Dave was telling me about those scales near Sea-Tac, always on. Eric, You can also get it done at United Rental off of 303 (Waaga Way). It will cost you, but you'll have a weight ticket, if you want. You could also do it 1/4 tank of gas and full tank, see the difference.
