Last time we did this we ordered over 30 antennas! Craven Speed is willing to work with us on another Group Buy of their Stubby Antenna etched with "PSMINI". Last time the Antennas were anodized black with white etching. This time the antennas would be black powder coated with laser etching in silver. Normal individual cost would be $20 + $6 for shipping. By having them shipped to a single address Craven Speed would wave the shipping charge so the cost would be $20 (Minimum buy is 10 antennas). But - if we get over 30 orders the price would be $15.Lets get that $15 price!!! Edited by CINIMIN - November/10/09 at 11:54pm |

I ordered one the last time we had a group buy. I had a problem with it that you may want to be aware of. The threaded protrusion on the antenna, that screws into the Mini antenna base is simply a steel allen head set screw. Well, over time that rusted and my reception began to suffer as a result. I ended up going back to the stock antenna. (I could have gone in search of a stainless set screw I supposeā¦)

Sorry -- newbie question. Will the antenna fit on an '02 Cooper? Or is it a new 'S' fit?

The Craven Speed will fit any model of MINI "S", Cooper, 2002 - 2010. It seems to even fit on some of the classics.

FOLLOW-UP TO KEN'S POST.
I checked with Kellen at Craven Speed and got this response:
To address the rusting, I would have to also suspect it is uncommon because I have not been getting any complaints. It is made of steel and only has a black oxide which is oiled to make it water resistant but it certainly can rust over time. I would suspect that many do not get much exposure since they are enclosed beneath the antenna. We are happy to replace the screws for anyone at any time but we have not switched to a stainless screw because it is not as conductive as steel is.
Out of curiosity, I checked the antennas on CINIMIN and WOODSTOCK. Both had just a trace of rust around the top edge of the set screw, easily cleaned up with a toothpick and some WD-40. I really don't think significant rusting is a common problem but anyone with a concern might want to check. I would also recommend a LIGHT oil or WD-40 when installing the antennas. |

Jack - You may already know this, but .... When testing Cream Puff, we found that the '06 and prior had one thread pattern and the '07 and newer had a different pattern. (Cream Puff needed the '06 and prior.)
Should we start giving you the years of the cars so we can be sure they fit everyone's cars?

Good point Anne - but Craven Speed includes the parts to fit both sizes in each antenna kit - you just use the one that fits your car.

OK - we have 10 - I'll order them from Craven speed tonight. I'll deal with distribution after I know when we can expect to receive the antennas. Thanks to everyone who recognizes a good deal and a nice easy MINI mod when they see one!
