Topic: Spare tire? Posted: July/25/06 at 11:16am |
I just replaced the run-flats on my MCS with non-run-flats, and while I picked up a bottle of Slime just in case, I figured it would be nice to have a spare tire for long trips. I drive over to Eastern Washington regularly, and I once shredded a tire going over Snoqualmie Pass, so some extra backup would be nice.
Would the spare tire from the MC fit on the MCS? If so, can I buy one somewhere (like from NW MINI), and about how much would it cost? If not, where could I find a spare tire that would fit? I don't want to buy one nice wheel and tire; I'd rather get a cheap donut spare and throw it in the trunk or backseat on long trips. |

I bought a MC spare for mine from a bone-yard. I think I paid about $125-135 freight included. I put in a request to an online wrecking yard and they found one for me. I also called NW MINI and checked their price and it's not that bad (I forget exactly how much). ...good insurance on long trips.

Seems like I saw that someone (I have no clue who) was selling cool MINI spare tire covers for just this situation.

How about a "Continental Kit" (SUV spare tire carrier for those who do not remember Lincoln Continentals) for your MINI spare? |

At the British Car meet in Bellvue there was an MGTC that had two spare tires, just a thought for really long trips.....
