Mini-Rolls and all,

You told me about that cabrio top recall at a previous pulley party. I
called a few weeks back and scheduled my first service appointment for
Monday morning.

When I spoke to them about it, they said (unconvincingly, I might add)
that the top had already been "repaired" under warranty by the previous
owner (I bought Mini_Zag used). I can't imagine that is the case, since the
wear marks from the recall problem are still plainly visible on the top and
the rear windows.

When I pressed them on replacing vs. repairing, the gal I spoke with
thought the recall was repair only. Can you give me some insight so I can
be prepared Monday morning? Thanks.

I have had my top replaced once and people on NAM have had them replaced three times.  I would show them the problem and push the issue, you never had one replaced, if the previous owner did that is fine, but you need to stress that you are not happy with the top and you want it fixed.  It is under warranty and if the first fix did not solve the problem then it should be done again.  It would be like a mechanical engine part failing, over and over again.  Three times for the same issue is a lemon law failure and subject to state law, so two changes are pushing you to that point.

Good advice, thanks. Doesn't the recall notice actually call for it to be
replaced? I guess it doesn't really matter if it is still a problem, like you said.
Thanks for the quick reply.

One other ?: I still have a squeak (likely) from the aftermarket rear sway bar
or control arms. I know that it won't be under warranty, but will they solve it
if I pay for the shop time for them to troubleshoot it? Thx.
