Hi all, thought I would drop in and say hi.  While I am not an official owner yet, I have now made the plunge and put in my order.  Thus begins the longest 2-3 months of my life.  :)
 
I'm still working on some of the mods I'll be doing first, but there is a AB MCSa on the way!
 
I live up in Seattle, and I'm coming from a Jeep wrangler.  The thing that brought me to the Mini is that it seems like the perfect marriage of fuel efficiency / performance / fun.
 
Anyhow, hope to see some of you around.

Welcome. Did you order from NW MINI? Last year when I ordered they were quoting 8 month waits, so your short wait should be good. Due to the wait I ordered out of state, but that 2 months it took to receive was fun.
You should check out the forums First Gear section at http://www.northamericanmotoring.com/forums/
There is great info there on how to track your car all the way through production and transportation. It can make the wait quite fun.

yeah, I ordered from NW mini.  They got me a spot on the first week of may assembly. 
 
Thanks for the heads up.  I've been out to NAM, and have already begun tracking my baby.   (even though it shows as Dark Silver right now.)

Fantastic!!   Welcome to this great club. I am a relative newbie also. I have had my MINI for a month minus 4 days. It's dark silver/black roof with 4100 miles on it. (amazing what a trip to Vegas can do for miles on your MINI...)

ooh, Dark Silver, that was my second choice.  Those can look so nice.  I love them with white stripes, looks awesome.

You nailed it a perfect marriage of fuel efficiency / performance / fun.
Down side not very good in the mud bog or rock crawling Wink
It is never to soon to plan your mods, any question I suggest you ask here before you buy. I can promise you will get honest opinions and experiences to make your own choices.

First "mod" - I just ordered some magnetic badge holders - one for front one for rear.  (and a half dozen badges)  ;)

Did you order floor mats with yours? I picked up mine one day after you and still no floor mats.

I did order floor mats and they were in the car when I picked it up. (I had to go back for the Velcro plugs that hold the drivers side in place, but I did get mats)

Well, finally took posession on Friday.  So it was a weekend of motoring for me.  Next weekend will be doing an Oregon coast run, so that should be a lot of fun.
 
I LOVE my new MINI.  It's probably my favorite car I have ever owned.  Everything about it just seems to "work".  I took some pictures, but haven't gotten them off my camera yet.  I'll try to get that done in the next couple days and post a pic of the new baby.

Congratulations on the New Arrival!  Sounds like you are a proud and very Happy parent!  What a great time of year to begin your Motoring Experience!
 
This is a great Club and they participate in lots of events.   Hope you have a chance to bring your MINI to the PSMINI Car Show on August 16 - it should be a super time where you'll see so many MINIs.

Shucks... I miss that new baby smell.  I'm jealous!  Wink  Just kidding... Congratulations!  Have fun with your new arrival and remember that frequent naps may be necessary...  especially if you get woken up in the middle of the night for a drive.  LOL
