I have an 05 Mini. Took delivery May 1. 3000 miles. I hear a growl when the ac pump engages. It is getting more noticeable. Now I can feel it also. Has anyone had this? I made appt to to get it looked at July 1. I am worried about the compressor locking up before then. Thanks, Minifan

I've had problems with the boot not opening before, usually right after a Iwashed it and it lasted like a day or two. Haven't had it in awhile, never found out the exact cause of the problem.
Driving in Europe is more fun!

Hi, My ac noise is associated with the cooling fan which switches on with the compressor. I spoke with the service department and was assured that it is not much to worry about. I am roadtripping to Park City Mt next week. Will put on at least 2000 miles. I am very happy with my car so far. It is a learning experiance. I have the cvt trans and wondered how it would perform. It really goes went you want it to. I want to take it to the "track day" sometime. Later, Ron

Ron,

Try moving the shifter to Sport mode and shifting.  It is a blast to shift through the six gears.  I had a CVT and it was fun to drive in Sport mode

Hi Dave, I commute 60 miles a day and switch between D and SD a lot. I found out that when you manually shift you have to be ready because it is such a short amount of time untill you need to shift again. Yeah it really is a kick to shift it. Ron
