Topic: MTH Cable...Anyone? Posted: June/23/05 at 6:31am |
Is there anybody out there with a OBDC-II cable that can help me with an MTH ECU flash?
I haven't purchased the flash from Franz yet, but I was just wondering whether or not I'd have to buy my own cable.

No you won't have to buy one. Grant will let you borrow it. All you have to do is sign over your Mini(just kidding) I will be getting the franz flash soon.

Grant is da man! I stopped by his place last evening and he helped my download my ECU files. I had problems with my laptop, but his sucked them right off.
I sent them to Franz when I got home and when I woke up this morning, the "TUNE" was in my inbox. Amazing!!!
Thanks Grant.

we loaded his software on tonight. hope everything works well for you!
BTW: I will have my laptop and cable at the detailing session for
anyone who is interested in downloading their data to send to Franz for
tuning. Remember, you still need to go through the first part of
the process and buy a code for your car.

Ok, ok, ok....group hug is over, get back to the REAL question:
What do you think of the software? Can you tell a difference?

I like it a lot. It almost completely took care of the "yo-yo" at
3000RPM. I don't know how much power it really created, but the
driveability is better.

Grant went with me on my first spin around the block. Being that I Was still in the break-in period, I didn't want to take it to the Rev-Limiter, but it felt like it pulled stronger.
I am, however experiencing a rough throttle between 2500 and 3000 RPM. This may be because of the 64-62mm throttle body or the AGS, but it's there. I was getting it, before MTH at about 3200-3500 RPM, but now I'm getting it in the lower range. Once past that, it is strong and smooth.
I've asked Franz to see what he can do about this rough spot.
Thanks again, Grant.

I have the similar upgrdes and the same flat spot since the throttle body. I've been waiting for franz to send back my files but if you listed your mods and still have the same problem. I think I'll go with the Dinan S5 software.

I actually tested her on the same route I took Austin and spun the tires and drifted in the same places. Mikie likes it!

Mike and Sheri
Have you noticed on Austin a slight flat spot somewhere between 2800 and 3300 rpms? It's only when your just cruising and slowly accelorating. It is very minimal. I'm told all bored throttle bodys do this. Minimos has it so does Minirox. It was very noticable when I first put the TB on and thought it was gone after the S5.

Mike I dont drive AUSTIN enough to answer your question when I have driven him I didn't notice a flat spot or I just wasn't paying enough attention to notice. I asked Sheri she said she hadn't noticed one but the we don't drive him that much. We will take him to Bellevue tomorrow and see if we feel a flat spot..........
