Our search continues and I stumbled upon this.

Maybe they are hearing the "death rattle" that I have read about and think it needs a new motor.  If only I could win the lotto or something and open up a MINI only shop/recycling yard/sales lot where sad MINI's could go to get happy again before finding a new owner.

Actually being a mechanic would help as well.
