There could be no better fun that this.

The first 5 minutes are quite stimulating and very fun, but then the white GT3 shows up.

Interesting how the driving styles suddenly changes.

Wheeeeeeeee.

Enjoy

Great find Rob. What a beautiful dance these babies do. Those JCW MINI guys are not Ring Rookies and really drive that track well.

Here's a quote from the write up:

Remember, kids: It's the driver that really counts, not the car. And never underestimate a hot hatch in good hands.

WELL SAID!!!!

The Mini's really caught that white car in the twisties and the increase in pace was noticeable when they got passed!

Thanks for the video.  Just keep thinking Shelton....

I wish there was a local MINI Dealership, like our Honda, Subaru, Mazada and VW.

I do believe those MINI drivers have done a lap or two at the ring - so very smooth.  Fun to watch them, especially when they got a little serious chasing the Porsche.  Thanks Rob.

Yes, smooth and fast. But the GP MINI driver needs to dial it back to 9/10ths - he got two wheels off right before Aremburg turn while passing another car ... :-)

That video was great.
I talked to my brother on the phone today, who just got back from actually driving this.

He said that the actual track is much more challenging and has more elevation than it appears on video or in the Gran Turismo video game.
80% of the corners are blind corners. The red and white painted kerbs have been known to flip cars. He saw two accidents in two days. The track conditions can change mid-lap, with dry sections, wet sections, foggy sections, etc. Cars get light (a bad thing) going over hill crests. And so on.
But he had the time of his life, couldn't believe he was there even when he was there, and is already figuring out how to convince his wife to let him go back again someday!

While watching the "car porn" in the last video I noticed it was possible to see a slight flex in the tire sidewall (viewed from that low, passenger side camera).  That is the first time I have see it on video/film/etc.  A little bit of the red rim shows(briefly) in a left turn.

Rob, your son-in-law has good taste!

Is there a fee for Subscription??

Sabine is apparently no longer driving the BMW ring taxi, but now is driving a Porsche GT3 (when she is not busy racing or appearing on TV)

Nice video!  Thanks Kurt.  It appeared that the Mini could keep a tighter line but the P car was certainly a more comfortable ride :-)

That video is so COOL!!! Maybe it will stir up a little trash talk on Facebook!
