To all who are interested, there is another Kitsap Kup event This Saturday, 14 April. Cost is $35 to race your Mini at least 4 times around the Auto Cross track. I was out at the last event, and I had a blast. It is amazing what a MCS can do on the track. My wife about had a heart attack, as she watched her car get thrown around the track, but it is a great time. Hope to see anyone who can show up. And Quandelf, got your card down at lower base in Bangor. Thanks for the look.

The Bremerton Raceway outside of Port Orchard
Directions From Highway 16 (north or south): Take the Old Clifton Road/Tremont Street (Port Orchard) exit (milepost 26, look for the Bremerton Raceway or Bremerton Motorsports Park signs). Turn west on Old Clifton Road towards Sunnyslope and continue on 4.0 miles until the road makes a turn to the right and you come to a newly paved four-way intersection (this is a change from previous years when this was a five-way intersection). Take a left and an immediate right onto Clifton Rd. There will be a mini-mart on your left. Continue driving for 1.4 miles more until the road ends. The raceway entrance will be straight ahead. IMPORTANT!: The speed limit on Clifton Road from the mini-mart to the raceway is 30 miles per hour and is strictly enforced! Sorry, I didn't see you question until now.
No cost to watch, the events are open to anyone. To participate you need an empty car (no empty coffee cups, loose cd's etc) and a good attitude. Lots of good info at www.wwscc.org including the best calendar of autox events in the northwest. Edited by motoring - April/16/07 at 1:36am |
