I haven't posted in a while, been pretty busy helping the family get a flower/gift shop off the ground in Enumclaw (hence the magnetic delivery decals on the side of the car. We built a cheap carport off of the garage so we could work out of the rain about a month ago, and Christmas morning I came outside to see that it had fallen under the weight of the snow and crunched my Mini :( For how bad it could have been, I guess I got off easy. $4500 worth of damage to the outside but luckily no broken glass, including the sunroof. I have since been rebuilding the car and she will be better than ever come car show season. Look for progress in the mods forum.

Ouch! That's a bummer. Sorry to hear that. To post a picture make sure you size it down to less than 250K and make sure it's a .gif or .jpeg file.

I'll second that "ouch"! Martin's right - resize your pics and they should load just fine. I'll be interested to see them. |

Adam ~ So sorry to hear about your misfortune. What a true bummer! I'm surprised you seem so upbeat about it. I tend to fume about things like that for a long time, but I guess it's stupid of me to be like that since it doesn't change anything.
Have you loaded the photos of the damage to your MINI on your MySpace or Facebook? You could copy and paste the photo right in the forum's message box like this (I copied one of your photos from your myspace):

Your MINI looks very customized. I love it! The wheels look great and I wish I had some of your accessory lights. Are you coming to Vegas for the AMVIV (A Mini Vacation In Vegas)? You should definitely bring your MINI and show it off. |

Off topic... How do you clean up your exhaust pipes so nicely? Mine need it badly...

Hmmmm when I tried to link to a photo on my myspace it also didn't work. I have posted pics before and been fine. I must be having some sort of weird computer issue on my end. As for the exhaust tips, I didn't do anything but wash them off with soap and water. They were already in great condition when I got the car so I think that helped. I no longer have the JCW exhaust and the stainless ends on my Volt exhaust are a lot harder to keep looking nice.
Ok looks like it worked finally. Ahhhh much better.

The damage doesn't look as bad as I thought it would after viewing the photos. However, I know body work takes a lot of time and patience to do it right. I'm really sorry that happened to your car. What a bummer....

Ouch! Same thing happened to a friend with a Morris Minor Convertible during all that snow. They had the car fully restored and put it under a temporary shelter because there was no room in the garage. The shelter collapsed and it took days to get to the car under all the snow. The soft top needs replacing and there is interior damage. Luckily not much body damage. The car had zero miles on the restoration. He, too, was a lot less angry than I would have been. Heck, I'm steamed because a crow dropped something on the MINI roof during the snow and I have a gouge thee inches long. Brian also got into big trouble for scratching the hood with the snow brush. He no longer clears my car for some reason.
Hope the body shop does you proud. Edited by works4me - January/26/09 at 5:36am |

Oh I bet that hurt. Nice car. Show us pictures when it's repaired. Have you determined where your going to have the repairs done?

I have pretty much repaired everything on the car except my broken grill and some dents in the roof. I have been doing all the work myself and will finish re spraying the roof and taking out those dents when I get some warmer weather. If you want to see pictures of the car done then check out my post at the top of the exterior mods forum. Thanks!

Cool. You must be very handy. I would have to bring it in. Especially the paint portion. Thanks I will go look at it.
