We had the Mini Link System Bike Holder installed by Northwest Mini and
they did a great job. The bike rack added a few new rattles during our
drive between Seattle and the Kitsap Peninsula (really bad on I-5
between Federal Way and Fife). The bike and bike rack did not obscure
the rear view mirror or side mirrors too much. We chose the rear bike
rack over the roof rack since it will be easier for either one of us to
load and unload the bikes. We will need to get an adapter (also sold by
Mini) that will hold my wife's bike since it does not have the
traditional upper frame tube.
The Sport Link sockets (left and right of exhaust) hold the bike rack (see below).
The bike rack and pivot arm are shown both locked in place. To access the
boot you unlock the security lock, remove the "T" handle pin, and pivot
the bike arm away from the boot (see below).
