Yes, they did -- right away, whereas NW MINI was going to make me wait another week.

I am really beginning to like those People( Seattle Mini), which is good for me because I consider Dealerships a necessary evil that one must live with. Now if you could get them to put on a track event or a rally.

I saw that!  3 MINIs!   Whoohoo!  I was also trying to read through the rally rules and, holy cow, I'm soooo confused.  I'm going to need to do some serious studying!

A popular sticker we used to see on Rally Cars:

"DISCOVER AMERICA: GET LOST ON A RALLY"

Good luck to the Powells and the Friends.  Keep reminding yourselves "We're doing this for fun" and you should have a good time.

Good thing since we'll be dead last in the end, with max penalties, I'm sure!

Well, I've been studying up but Larry is going to have to navigate because I am susceptible to motion sickness and he hasn't taken a look at any of the info yet.  That's why I'm saying who knows where we'll end up!  I wish I had the nav but when I looked at the rules for Novices it looks like we can't use anything to assist us.

Kind of sorta, There was a argument on one of the forums about nav system. The finial out come seem to always normal GPS and stock nav systems are not accurate enough to make a difference.

I was thinking more along the lines when we get lost we could find the ocean, lolololol

True -- can't go wrong if you just go east, right?  All I want to do is get there, I don't care if I win anything.  And can we bring a MINI sized log because I'll be lucky to get one squeezed in the car.  Also, as far as the GPS, ours shows a much more accurate mph speed than the MINI does.   That's what I would want to use it for.

I don't know how it is on the newer cars but on the earlier ones, the speedo routinely reads faster than you are really going.  It is significant.  When I am doing 65 on my GPS, I am displaying 69 on my speedo.  That's about 6%.  That would really mess up things in a Time/Distance rallye.

That is why there is a 10 mile Official mile section to calculate your speed ad rolling distance.

Good luck with those calculations.  My odometer is pretty close, it's my speedo that has the problem, and, before anyone asks, not that speedo.
