Alta now has a 17% Pulley. I have been unsure of which pulley to get now they make it a bit harder to decide. Like I need another choice.

Ha ha ha! Good answer Rob! I think I would (will, when I can afford it) go with the 17% pulley. It's a little bit better performance than the 15%, yet may let the supercharger last a little longer. One of the reasons I love this site, we can all get together, and experience different mods to see if they are really what we're after. |

Well the the thing about the price is that they are all $119.00 so I guess it is just a size thing. Both the 17 and 19 needa new belt but I figure you should do the belt way.

I'm running the 15% with the stock belt and I haven't noticed any
problems. I haven't really inspected the belt since we got back
from Vegas, but it should be fine. The only problem is that the
tensioner is at full capacity. Any more and you will certainly
need a new belt.

I'm from the old school new pulley new belt. 15% & 17%-NAPA 25-060539. 17% & 19%-NAPA 25-060535. The 17% is in the middle you can use either belt. |

Thanks for the info. Now ya did it. I can't decide what I am gonna do with my Mini. Cold air, pulley, exhaust, get the JCW? I am still waiting for the Mini Korea service dept to open here to see what they can do as far as after-market shop work. There is a speed shop here in Seoul and they are making a 205hp MCS. I am trying to get driving directions to the shop from the guys at Mini but the language barrier is a problem. If I find it I will try to get info on the MCS and maybe post some pics. I got this need for speed and want to get my MCS screaming......story developing |
