It’s time once again to elect PSMINI Officers that will serve as our Board of Directors for the next year.  Nominations are now open and will close in 2 weeks on November 30th.  Paid members may submit their name to run for one of the positions or nominate another member (out of courtesy, please make sure you have talked to them about it first).  Nominations may be done either through this thread or an email to psmini@psmini.org indicating your interest in running for a position.

The positions are as follows:

including contacting regular contributors and upcoming event organizers to ensure their copy meets

deadline.

f) Appoint a Web Master to oversee the maintenance, preparation and operation of the Club Website.

g) Formulate a creative column for the Club newsletter on a monthly basis. Information on upcoming and

past events as well as general Club news and information should be included.

3. FINANCIAL OFFICER

c) Provide a financial report at each Club meeting for review and approval of the Officers.

d) Provide the Club President with a monthly financial report.

4. COMMUNICATION OFFICER

g) Responsible for posting “web based” newsletter onto web page

5. Master at Arms

b) Assists in sponsorship needs.

c) Coordinates events and nominates “run leaders” as needed.

The names of nominees will be posted in this sub forum as they are received and voting will begin December 1, 2009 and conclude December 13, 2009.  Ballots will indicate the final list of candidates for each position and be available to each paid member.  There will be one vote per paid membership.  Results will be announced on or before December 31st, once the election results are verified.

Good luck to all and thanks to those willing to take on these responsibilities!

Linda Grouell

Just a thought - I wouldn't want to discourage anyone from the secretary position, but it does take a considerable time commitment.

A quick reminder to everyone that nominations will close at midnight on Monday, November 30th.  If you've been vacillating about putting your name in the hat, now's the time!

We will be using electronic balloting this year to collect and tally the votes and only those candidates that have expressed their interest in running by the deadline will be listed on the ballot and eligible for election.  Watch for details on Tuesday about submitting your vote!

Current candidates are posted here:  http://www.psmini.org/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=6171.

Will there be a spot for write-candidates since it will be all electronic?

No, there won't be which is why we're encouraging everyone to get their nominations in by the deadline tonight.  If there is someone that you want to see on the ballot, please have them submit their name.  You may also nominate someone, but please make sure they have been made aware of the nomination and agree to the responsibilities beforehand.

Thanks, Linda.Thumbs%20Up

I wasn't planning to submit my name or nominate someone else - just curious since we've always had a spot for write-ins before and, at least last year, many folks used it.  Glad to have the heads up before I get my ballot.

Actually, we only had 5 write-in votes this last election and 2 in 2007.  The downside to write-ins is that the general membership doesn't get to ask those candidates any questions prior to voting or learn anything about their reasons for running if they haven't made their wish to run public.  I know we all want to be sure that people running are willing and able to take on the responsibilities on behalf of the club.
Thanks,
Linda
