The current club record, to my knowledge, is 189,000 miles for "firehawk". A 2005 Cooper S with the original supercharger, but I'm sure he's been through 2-3 power steering pumps. :-) 

These cars are just machines and they can be fixed. Unless you wrap it around a tree, there is nothing in the way of driving them for basically forever. Just replace or rebuild the worn out bits...

If you don't mind me asking why did you get a new transmission?   On of the mounting tabs for the slave cylinder break?    Thanks and congrats on 99k!!< id="_npwlo" ="applicationpwlo" height="0">

I think he had one of the 5 speed Midlands transmissions which had durability/reliability issues compared to the 6 speed Getrag kit.
