I just spoke with the Hilton (Brandon / Cole) and they have about 4 rooms left at the $99 rate.
The 11th was/is incorrect. It should have stated the 9th (today) since it's good up to 2 weeks prior to the event. Sorry - my mistake. |

Thanks it okay, we are booked at the Holiday Inn, they said yesterday when we talked to them they had nothing so we needed to go with the better rate.

Car Shows and The Facts Of Life...
PSMIN is very fortunate to be one of the select car clubs in the region to have an established show at the XXX Root Beer Drive In in Issaquah - there is a waiting list of clubs who want to get on their show calendar. This year that show site is in danger of being lost if our club sdoes not support this event. The members of the board comitted to support this event back in February when XXX sets their show schedule. A lot of work on trophies, prizes, and vendors has already been done. The effort required to set up online pre-registration - which makes it easier on everyone - is inplace and working. All that is needed is a good showing of cars from the club and we will have another successfull show, a lot of fun and a guarenteed invitation to come back next year. Without the support - and particiaption - of a good turnout this will be thae last of what has been a major event for PSMIN. Hope to see you there! PS - It is not about having a SHOW CAR - it is about showing YOUR car.

For anyone who is hesitant about attending the show, Jack said it best, "It is not about having a SHOW CAR - it is about showing YOUR car."
Yes, there are awards given, but mostly it's about sharing your love of your MINI with fellow MINIACS! A chance to see and talk about all things MINI. See what others have done or are planning to do to their MINIs. Get ideas, swap MINI stories. Or just enjoy how great it is to see a LOT of MINIs together!
 The Triple X is a great venue, inside and out, and hosts car shows of all types and all marquees from spring to winter. The shows are always more exciting when there is a great turnout. So, sign-up to bring your MINI to the show! (Here's a pic from last year's show)

Is the show open to non-club members? If so, maybe adding that to the craigslist post could help drum up outside interest?
If it's something open to all Mini owners, do fliers or something get posted at the dealerships or do MA/SA's help spread the word about this sort of event? I'm trying to think of ways I would find out about it if I weren't a club member or aware of car forums, like a Mini lover who doesn't know yet that there's other junkies out there with the same problem.  |
