Okay the tech check is just a quick look at the car but not required . There are only 20 spots left.
Half the day will be track and the other half will be Rally. |

I signed up for this one. (I haven't even been to Pacific Raceways yet this year.) The event sounds fun. More than just lapping. Anyone else up for a road trip? Portland is a fun course....

Wish I could make this but just can't. Hoping to make ORP in Sept.
Ken, where have you been? Track season is almost over and I haven't seen you!
Several people have signed up for the BMW day on 8/12 and the PCA day on 8/18. Pick a day and come on out. Try to make the BMW day. Their attendence #'s have been low this year and I think Larry, Grant and I are signed up already.

I haven't even gotten my car ready for this season yet! I have a set of Cross Coilovers sitting here, new rear trailing arms, brake ducts and other miscellaneous things to do. The year is going by too fast and I have been spending most of my time working on the little Mini. I should be able to free up my lift in the next few days so I'll have to take that opportunity to get all of these things done. I'll see how it goes for the BMW day... |

You'll love those Cross. Sounds like you have all the parts, now get them on the car, aligned and rock & roll. If you need a good go-fer, give me a shout! Be glad to try to help.
Also think ORP in Sept. The Oregon PCA is doing a 2 day event 9/11 & 912. Think all of us that went on 7/18 are going back. Just an amazing track!!!!!!

Ken..I just might be up for this afterall. I mean Anne actually asked why I wasn't doing it...so I mean I want to make sure she is happy and all.
I'd probably head down after work on Wednesday and stay overnight then head back after the day at the track on Thursday. What were your plans?

I'd love to go to this if I wasn't working the day before... I don't get off until that morning of the 26th.
 $99 is a great deal!  ...especially for all this:
"The day will include driver training highlighting weight transfer, vehicle dynamics, and the safety features of your MINI, plus an autocross, time on the track with instructors, and a 2 1/2 hour fun rally. Professional driver training, helmets, and insurance is being provided by Autosports.
Rasmussen MINI will host a BBQ lunch.
Track safety inspections are available free of charge at Rasmussen MINI prior to the event. It is suggested that participants schedule early for the most convenience, as times are limited. This inspection is not mandatory, but is recommended for optimum stress-free fun. Out of town drivers will be offered a chance for an inspection at PIR on the morning of the event. Gina! Cool...glad you are going! Steve and I are heading down Wednesday after work (or a little earlier if we can get out a little early). No later than 4pm. We are staying at the LaQuinta Inn & Suites in Vancouver (about 10 miles from the track).

I think I will in Portland anyway for business the day before, so could work out perfectly.
QUESTION -- my MINI is an '02, non-S, nothing modified mechanically. I saw some of you talking about new parts, and "getting ready for the track." I've never been to one of these, so I'm just asking if this is a waste for a stock car like mine, or can we just hop on and haul a$$ with our newly taught skills. Please respond if you can -- I'd love to go, but want it to be worth the time.

Jim, I would not say it is a waste of time just becuase you don't have a S or a bunch of mods. We have alot of members that do track days. I is a real good way to learn about driving your front wheel drive mini and to be confident and in control under controlled conditions. You will find there is nothing like being in a group of 100 Minis on the track.
