Just got home from the run to the Gorge. We have got to do the Saint Helens run.  Highway 25 up to saint helens and down the other side is 40miles of twistys and I mean twistys not to mention the road up to windy ridge. Thanks Miniwayne for navagating. We came in like 30th our time was about 15min to fast. I just couldn't slow down on the twistys, I had no problem going slow on the straights.

Yes, there must be 50' of straight road there somewhere.  Quite a rush.  My heart was pounding when we did it.  Also a great place for your navigator to get car sick.

Great drive for our list.

The question is, "When you turn on your car does it return the favor?"

Mike,

It was VERY hard not to go on the trip yesterday! I still remember the ride from Madras Oregon when Elaine insisted that I take her on  the route passed Mt St Helens. When we discovered that it was ALL paved,  we celebrated! That was about 4 years ago. They had changed the Curly Creek part of the trip and had paved it. Paving made a difference on our big motorcycle.

I also have a favorite return route traveling down the eastern side of the cascades thru Lyle, Klickitat, Goldendale, Bickleton then over White or Chinook Pass!.

What route did the group take to get to Randle. There are several that are real twisty!

The roads weren't the only awesome thing. The power of nature is overwhelming! Wonderful experience, definitely have to make this run with the group.

Oh yeah Mike, no problem, I should thank your daughter for backing out. My wife and I are definitely doing the run to the sea. Tamara too, of course.

Driving in Europe is more fun!

My brother and I had a great time. I would also recommend this drive for the group. We took an additional detour on NF-26 which is a 15 mile single lane road with many turnouts between NF-25 and NF-99. Great views and great twisty roads. I would send a Mini every 1-2 minutes with the lead cars watching for oncoming cars. Here are several pictures:

I caught Mike graciously cleaning our windshield from the top of Windy Ridge. Thanks Mike!
