I spotted MiniCharley and BADSMINIon Hwy 16 East leaving Gorst. I was riding my bicycle on the shoulder coming back from Port Gamble where they are having a Civil War reenactment this weekend.

I missed most of the rain which was surprising looking at the weather maps later. Reading the event feedback everyone had a great time in our back forty. We missed a great run. Once I finish training for and completing the STP and RHAPsody bike rides we should be joining in on some MINI drives once again.

Maybe we will see you on the STP. Mini Charley (Dean and Belinda) and I are doing it as well. Are you doing 1 day or 2?

There are a lot of MINI folks riding STP. Where are people spending the first night for us 2 day riders? We are at the Little Creek Casino in Rochester.

I'm planning to ride in 1 day, but as a fall back plan I have a hotel reservation in Longview around 150 mile mark.

Wow! Good for you. How many hours do you expect it to take you in 1 day?

I'm figuring it will take me around 13-14 hours of solo riding plus 2 hours or so at the rest stops, waiting in line for food and the porta potties, etc. I should be able to start at 5pm and arrive by 9pm just before the Saturday celebration ends. If I join any informal pacelines, that will improve my time.

Today on my training ride I followed some of the roads from Kitsap Kruise last weekend. They are certainly great driving roads and it was sunny and warm which was even better. I don't mind climbing hills but the downhills don't last long enough.
