Supercharger/water pump

   I need some advice. 
I have a 2005 mini cooper s with 82,000 miles. I believe I have the death rattle of the water pump. In my reseach so far I have come across the idea of removing the water pump from the back of the supercharger, and replacing it with an electric water pump. Has anyone heard of this? The consept is remove the pump from the supercharger remove the issue of gears being stripped and the supercharger and water pump dieing. I have been dealing with heat soak for a while now and am taking my Mini to Zahntech on Monday to have them replace the cooling fan, motor mounts, control arm bushings and have them find out the rattle issue. Any thoughts, ideas, or sujestions would be a great help to me. Thank you all
