Updates on Roles & Responsibilities:

Several things have taken place in the last few weeks that you should know about and I’ve been remiss in getting the word out to all of you.

First, Kristin Eberly (Kristin) has resigned as Secretary.  We thank her for her hard work in that capacity over the last year and a half and wish her well.  No replacement has been named as yet and since elections will be coming up, we will probably wait for that opportunity to allow you to select the next Secretary.  In the meantime, the board members and other volunteers will fill the gap to maintain continuity.  If this is a position you are interested in and want to find out more about what’s involved by volunteering for the position, please send a note to psmini@psmini.org.

Second, Roy Morey (Roy on our forum, frequently seen in the company of Beth Morey, EscapePod and driving the Red Baron in parades) has volunteered to pick up the WebMaster and Forum support from Dean Prince.  He has been working with Dean behind the scenes over the last few months and you may have noticed a couple of his subtle changes:  The AMVIV countdown and the up/down arrows in topics with more than one post that will take you to the top of the page or the bottom.  He’s getting ready to move in a new version of the home page that will automatically place calendar events on the home page with a link to the thread and you’ll see that soon.  We’ll also have an announcements section on the home page.

Our thanks to Dean Prince (ConeKiller on our forum) for getting us through the last eight months while we transitioned.  Dean is going to follow his desire to work on putting together a route library for us, something I mentioned I wanted in my posts when I indicated I was running for office and something that I know others have expressed interest in.  This also happens to be something that the By-Laws Revision Committee felt would be valuable and identified as an appointed position.

Third, Liz Smart (lsmart on our forum) has graciously volunteered to take on the newsletter responsibility, replacing Mark Talkington (scoop).  Mark’s shoes were big ones to fill, but I think you’ll be very impressed with what Liz has in mind and her approach!  I know that those of us on the board have been and her enthusiasm is contagious.  Watch for the Fall issue coming very soon.

Please join me in welcoming these people for stepping up and thanking those that have filled these capacities in the past!

Linda Grouell

PSMINI President

Thank you Kristin for all your hard work the past couple of years.  Secretary is one of the more time consuming Board roles and you did a great job!

And thanks to Roy, Dean, and Liz for helping out.

I too want to thank Kristin, Dean and Mark for getting us to where we are, and then thank Roy and Liz for taking us onward.  It's not hard to imagine the effort required for Secretary and Webmaster, with all that day-to-day stuff.  And for you Liz, how about a "Mod of the Month" feature (where you could be the star several times now), or a short section on first aid techniques.

Suggestion:  This is Bill Bell.  Are we doing an article on the new Seattle Mini Dealership and what items they are selling if we purchase a Mini there?  I can provide some info on the new car I took delivery from there?

Thanks,
Bill

John ... Surely you jest!  My skills under the hood pale in comparison to some in our midst.

Linda ... Sorry for hijacking your thread, but thanks for the update.  I can put my head back in the sand now.

Between coffee breaks, a trip for donuts, chatting at the water cooler, smoke breaks, arranging weekend dates, stepping out for a long lunch and some tight curves, returning personal calls, running routine errands, a few trips to the can, a weekly round of 18, and checking up on all current activity on this site, my days are quite full already.  I don't know where I'd fit it in!

I also want to thank Kristin for all she has done for this club.  Besides being a nice person, and pitching in help that is not club related, she is wonderful!  I have been a secretary in a previous life for the Alfa Club, before computers, Wink and know what an effort it is!  Thank you again!

And Bruce, I really think it would be kinda cool to have a "science-guy" approach to all things MINI!
