I just got a 2007 Cooper S (R56).  I saw an ad on a used set of R90 17 rims that came off of a 2005 Cooper S.   To be certain that this rims will fit my Mini, I called my local Mini dealer and they said 2005 rims will not fit in 2007 models.    Is that true?

Stock rims won't fit, since they were drilled for 12mm bolts.  By August of 2006 (when my car was made), Mini had changed the bolt size to 14mm (I believe the changeover date was in May).  Aftermarket wheels might fit, especially if they have a hub centering ring.  Many of those have larger holes so they fit a wider array of vehicles.  I'm not sure how many cars have a 4x100mm lug pattern, but more than a few (a LOT of Honda's...).
