In the old thread it was asked if there was anything like the Tail of the Dragon in WA...
One of my favorites is the road up Mt. Constitution, on Orcas Island.  There's 80+ curves (lots of switchbacks)  in ~5 miles. (I counted them once, but forgot the exact number.)

The view from the top is spectacular - though it does require a short hike of a couple hundred yards.

A snapshot from the top:

A few bummers though:
    1. 25 mph speed limit (but hard to enforce due to the terrain). Wink
    2. Can be crowded on weekends with tourists afraid to do even 25.
    3. Ferry fare to get to Orcas (lots cheaper for motorcycles - for the riders out there).

Mt. Baker Hwy, is pretty good, especially once you start climbing.  Never counted the curves or mileage there though.

If everything seems under control, you're just not going fast enough.

If you want to do the Mt. Const. run, I highly suggest it be scheduled for a weekday... I know this isn't the most convenient, but that's what sick leave or vacation days are for, right? Wink
Weekends are just too crowded with tourist traffic to get all the fun out of the road you can.

I did the Mt Constitution drive in November on a weekday.  There were only two other cars total on that road while I was there.  We pretty much had the road to ourselves the entire time.  It was  awesome and worth the ferry fare!  Spend the whole day on Orcas or spend it island hopping! So many beautiful rural roads on the islands.

I have heard from a reliable source (a former 911 operator for San Juan Co.) there's only one duputy on Orcas, and he doesn't leave his house very often. Wink
