Shelly and I have decided it is time for us to lead a drive. We are looking for feedback, but the general idea is a drive to the Edgefield Inn in Troutdale Oregon ( just east of Portland). It is a McMenamins property with lots of activities and fun. We are targeting some next spring April-May 2013 time frame.
initial itinerary is: Meet Saturday morning Federal Way/Tacoma area Fun drive to Edgefield (lunch TBD, maybe picnic) arrive Saturday early evening at Edgefield Buffet dinner for everyone in one of their banquet rooms Sunday morning activities: Golf on one of their par-3 courses Spa Time. Drive to Multinomah falls and hike Vege on the porch with a brandy and book and do nothing Organized lunch ? Sunday afternoon caravan or drive independently back up I-5 to home We have made contact with Edgefield and hope to put some more concrete numbers together. Initial estimates on costs: Rooms $60-$80 Saturday lunch $10? Saturday dinner $20-$30 Sunday lunch $15? We are looking for feedback on both activities and cost. We are trying to keep this a fun and inexpensive get-away. I would also like to get a count of who might be interested. There is no obligation, we are just looking at some rough numbers we can use when we talk to Edgefield.

 THANKS Gordon and Shelly for stepping up and volunteering to put a drive together - and it sounds like a good one! I'm reasonabley sure WOODSTOCK and CINIMIN woule be in - if we can decide which car to take...(Minor correction to your post - I think it should be SATURDAY dinner) But the prices look reasonable.

Can everyone who might be interested give a count? I will assume each car is one room. I would like a rough count for Edgefield. No commitment, this is about 6 months out so I'm just looking for a rough count.

SMOG will be there with one possible exception. We have a funeral/memorial service to attend in the southern sierras about the same time and that date is not set yet.
