Fellow Mini owners & enthusiasts. NEED MORAL SUPPORT!!!!

Seems our little Mini/Porsche Challenge for NW Harvest has found traction with the media. King 5 has asked Larry Nelson, PCA and I to do a little interview for their Home Team Harvest campaign helping NW Harvest. Jeez, hope I don’t embarrass myself or the club but if any of you would be kind enough or crazy enough to come to Seattle Mini on Thurs. morning @ 5:45 AM your presence would be welcome.

Please try to make the actual drive on Sat. Dec. 4th. This has reached a new level of excitement, so please try to be part of it.

Details are on PS Mini’s site:

Larry Nelson is getting support from his fellow Porsche owners.

Sure would be nice to have a friendly face or three from Mini at this thing.

Cheers!

Well, I could be persuaded to be there at 5:45, but only if you SWEAR that moral support doesn't include ending up in a camera shot!

I am there in spirit Greg, time to pull out the Hawaiian shirt Wink. Is there a way to get a copy of this when it airs, I can't pull in King5, can they post it on their facebook or website?

Good job everyone even though I could only watch about 10 seconds worth before I had to head out the door.  Looked like you kept the Porsche guy from feeling lonely.

Wow, I don't think I've ever gotten up that early for something not related to work!
Unfortunately I had to leave before the really fun stuff started - here's my pictures for the first half of the spot.

Looks like Jack & Linda were there first and the Porsche pulled in later...  You must live close by, not an hour on the ferry and 45 minutes drive.

Thanks to all who braved the cold and early hours to show up this morning. Greg was an excellent spokesperson for the PSMINI and "the cause" and John did a fabulous job in the "competition"! Thanks to Kyle and Seattle MINI for hosing this great PR event for NWharvest and PSMINI. Thumbs Up
Now let's make sure and back up this with a great turn-out on Saturday for the food drive and make sure we are the winning side of the "Battle of Britian II"!

Considering the hour of this event we had pretty good turnout - and there were a few MINIs there to greet us when we arrived.   I did detect a sense of complacency in the Porsche crowd - but for PSMINI to make it competitive we are going to need lots of participation on Saturday.  Given the great support from Seattle MINI, KING TV, and the Aero-Machinist Lodge we really need to do our partSEE YOU ON SATURDAY!!!

The video was broadcast at various times. Linda says she might have the video for the 6am news show. I have it for the 7am news show. We were told that they would also have a taped piece for the noon news.
I'll post the relevant segments that I have soon! Hope they don't arrest me for copyright violation?

First let me THANK all the PEOPLE & MINI's that showed up today!!!!!!!

It made a big difference for me personally to have familiar and friendly faces smiling.

MANY MANY THANKS TO YOU ALL.

Kyle @ Seattle Mini went above & beyond. Opened, made coffee & made everyone feel welcome. Just Great. I've emailed Manfred to inform him of Kyle's role in making this experience easier to deal with for those of us that had/wanted to be there for this shoot.

Thanks-----------to everyone.

Hope we can KICK PORSCHE'S BUTT!!!!

Also, Larry Nelson of the PCA & I talked about making this an "ANNUAL EVENT" where we have this little contest. Win, lose or draw---------------you have to admit it's fun and we are giving back to the community. Doesn't get much better than this IMHO!!!!!

What do you guys think??? Annual Mini/Porsche battle for NW Harvest!!!!

The Porsche guys are really nice but were very secretive when someone asked how much they collected. We said we didn't know but they had a pretty big smile when they said this!!!

Cheers!

PS: hope someone has this taped/recorded. Emailed Larry to see if he could get a copy from Christie @ King 5 for both clubs.

I noticed that the Porsche parked out in the road where as the Mini got parked correctly; and he was a Porsche Driving Instructor?  They cheated already!!!

Cheers!

Yes, I did see the clip and the live thing on King5.  The Porsche had the cone in the middle of their bumper and the Mini had the cone on an edge, clearly putting the Mini off the road and the P in the road!

How many people can they fit into a Porsche Vs a Mini???  A point of sacrilege, I put a tarp into the Mini and loaded it with 12 bags of steer manure and still had room for 2 people, although a stinky ride!

You all did a wonderful job! Clap I watched the first airing (7:30 am?) and later recording on Kong TV (channel 6) here at work.  Too funny! LOL  I'm glad the parallel parking went better in the later show (8 am?).  I wish I could have joined you all, but there was no way that I would've made it to work by 7am.  Anyway, I'm glad and proud that we had quite a few MINI supporters at Seattle MINI so early this morning.  Way to go!! Star Clap See ya'll this Saturday....
